Chess Club
Chess builds strong and creative thinking. Players become accustomed to looking for more alternatives, resulting in greater fluency and originality. Chess offers immediate rewards and consequences for problem solving. Competition fosters interest, promotes mental alertness, challenges players and elicits the highest level of achievement. Runs on Fridays.

OFF SITE
University Settlement @ PS 134 | 293 East Broadway (ages 4 and up).
University Settlement picks up at PS 110 and walks students to PS 134. This free program emphasizes literacy and education, providing homework help, tutoring, and an environment where reading and writing become tools for exploration. Engaging each child’s strengths, the program fosters social, emotional, physical, moral, and cognitive development through creative, project-based learning.
